Accreditation of work experience (VAE)

Accreditation of work experience is a right enshrined in French employment legislation

Legislation

 “Anyone in active employment is entitled to have the knowledge acquired by experience, in particular working experience, accredited towards the acquisition of a qualification, a vocational degree or a certificate of qualification included on a list established by the National Employment Parity Committee of a professional body listed in the national directory of professional certifications referred to in Article L.335-6 of the education code”

Obtaining a higher education degree

“Any person who has practised a professional activity for at least three years, whether in a salaried, non-salaried or volunteer capacity relating to the purpose of their application, can apply for their experience to be accredited as evidence of all or part of the knowledge and aptitudes required to obtain a qualification or degree issued on behalf of the State by a higher education establishment.”
