Admissions to an engineering programme

You can join the engineering programme in 1st year, 2nd year or in integrated further training, depending on your previous training. This page shows you the different access routes.

Under agreements between the École des Ponts and French higher education establishments, certain students may be admitted to follow part of the engineering degree programme at the École des Ponts.

Under this agreement, students can enter the École des Ponts to complete their 3rd year engineering programme for a period of one or two semesters of classes.

Student trainee status

Students admitted to the École des Ponts have the status of student trainees and remain registered with their original institution throughout their time at the École des Ponts. They pay their registration fees to their original institution and tuition fees to the École des Ponts.

Admission

Admission is on the basis of an application and interview. The following documents must be sent to the Admissions Department (missionscolarite@enpc.fr), with a covering letter from the Director of Studies at their original institution, no later than March 30, 2012:

  • Covering letter
  • Course grades from their original institution
  • CV (which must include the applicant’s mobile phone number and e-mail address)
  • Copy of identity card or passport

Interviews

These will take place in the first half of April and a final answer will be sent to the applicant and the Director of Studies at the original institution no later than 20 April 2012.
The selection criteria will be the student’s course results, reasons for entering and an assessment of their educational plans.
