City life today is dependent on multiple services. Historically, these services were: the supply of water, electricity or gas, sewerage, telephones, access to transport networks, postal services. More recently, access to cable or the Internet has been added to this list. Home services are another fast developing sector. Municipalities are broadening their range of services to taxpayers. Site managers design services to match the places under their care. And finally, in the commercial sphere, the connection between online services, store-based services and home delivery is changing.
All these services are provided by public or private operators who are having to respond to increasingly demanding and varied clients. Private providers try to measure demand as accurately as possible. Local authorities maintain a continuous dialogue with users. Big companies, whether public or private, are also trying to anticipate and identify new or emerging markets.
That is the background to this programme, which seeks to train specialists capable of combining within the planning process the analysis of usage patterns and the design of services.
This specialist programme is jointly accredited by Paris-East Marne-la-Vallée University and École des Ponts ParisTech.
