From the second year onwards, on entry into the Masters programme or integrated further training, engineering programme continues within a faculty department. |
Programme structure
The objectives of the GCC course are achieved through:
-
teaching of the theoretical bases of mechanics and dynamics, applied to structures, soils and fluids;
-
a choice of further work on geotechnics, marine works, building structures or energy, combining theoretical courses and experiment;
-
two long projects (building, bridge, port, road or dam) involving technical experiment and the acquisition of design methods;
-
instruction on a range of more specific topics, covering all aspects of civil engineering and construction, as chosen by the student (structures exposed to particular risks, advanced dynamics, the physics of fires, metal constructions, railways, airport infrastructures, reinforced and prestressed concrete, construction project management);
-
seminars and trips: introduction to geology and construction materials, studies of how structures fit into their environment, innovation in certain technical fields.
