Employment prospects

 

Almost 70% of graduates have already found their first job before leaving the School, mostly through their company placement or end of course project, but also by drawing on the School’s extensive network.


In post less than one month after leaving the School

Being a graduate of the School also means that your training exceeds the needs of your first post and you will be taken on for your potential; engineers trained by the School move quickly into positions of responsibility, for examples heading a major project, or a functional or production unit, or into expert or management positions.Working graduates are recruited to become senior executives,whatever the sector.

A variety of roles in numerous sectors of activity

  • design engineer, works engineer, project manager, researcher, consultant, supply chain manager, financial analyst, auditor, risk manager,
  • in civil engineering firms, transport firms, in energy and environment,
  • in the aerospace, materials, and luxury goods industries,
  • in the consultancy, banking, insurance and logistics sectors,
  • in design offices, local authorities, planning departments, international bodies.

The placement department leading the way

The close synergies between the School’s SOP “Placements and Career Development” department and Ponts Alliance, the École des Ponts ParisTech’s graduates Association, support and facilitate the search for a job during and after training.They centralise job offers in all sectors and help students to prepare their entry into the employment market by providing a “careers programme”:a dedicated range of services to help people find placements and jobs, support personal development and communicate with potential employers.
