Founded in 1747, École des Ponts ParisTech is Europe’s oldest engineering school. Situated in Champs-sur-Marne, in the new town of Marne-la-Vallée, it falls under the aegis of the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing.

With its array of skills in civil engineering, environment, transport, urbanism, mechanical engineering, logistics and management, École des Ponts ParisTech can offer high level teaching programmes in a wide range of fields, underpinned by a strong and wide-ranging general education. Its research activities, at the intersection of the fundamental and the applied, are conducted in close concert with companies and public institutions and within an international framework. At the heart of several powerful networks, a founder member of the Paris-East University and ParisTech research and higher education clusters, the School trains potential highflying engineers with dual capacities in the technical and managerial spheres. The teaching programmes seek to meet both the aspirations of students and the needs of employers.

At the forefront of major socio-economic currents, the School has since 1747 sought to create “bridges” between sciences and cultures.
