Objectives

The objective of this Chair is to reinforce the partnership between the scientific world and industry by supporting research-based training in the field of materials science and by encouraging research activities linked with “future habitat”.

The Chair’s international dimension reflects the partners’ agreed policy to develop their links with foreign universities and research centres with a reputation for excellence in the Chair’s areas of interest:foreign guest professors, support for foreign students studying for double degrees at École des ponts ParisTech, organisation of conferences, etc.

Themes

The Chair’s training component will focus on promoting the training of École des Ponts ParisTech students in the Mechanical and Civil Engineering  Masters programme, and more specifically on the specialist subject in Materials Science for Sustainable Construction.

The Research component will be based on collaborations established with researchers in the School’s laboratories, with a particular emphasis on “rheology and formulation of materials” and the “spatial representation of buildings”.
