Lending procedures

Registering

Members of the School and its partners are eligible for document loans:

  • students
  • teachers
  • researchers
  • staff members
  • graduates of the School and students at partner institutions.

Students from partner institutions must register at the Learning Centre reception.

Any other person wishing to borrow documents must go through their organization’s interlibrary loan (PEB) service.

Borrowing

Quantity and duration of loan

  • Students
    10 documents for a period of 30 days, renewable once
    While the Learning Centre is closed for refurbishment, take advantage of the “Refurbishment Loan” and borrow up to twice as many documents between March 28 and April 28, 2017.
    During this period, documents can be borrowed exceptionally until October 2017.
    A selection of manuals and reference books can be borrowed from May 15, between 11 AM and 2 PM, from the counter located in M101 (Maupertuis Wing, 1st Floor).
  • Teachers, researchers, PhD candidates, staff
    15 documents for a period of 30 days, renewable once
    While the Learning Centre is closed for refurbishment, take advantage of the “Refurbishment Loan” and borrow up to twice as many documents between March 28 and April 28, 2017.
    During this period, documents can be borrowed exceptionally until October 2017.
    A selection of manuals and reference books can be borrowed from May 15, between 11 AM and 2 PM, from the counter located in M101 (Maupertuis Wing, 1st Floor).
  • Former students, students, or researchers at partner institutions
    5 documents for a duration of 15 days, renewable once
    The document lending service is suspended during the refurbishment period.

Documents not available for lending

  • the most recent journal issue on the display shelf,
  • daily press publications,
  • dictionaries, encyclopedias, directories,
  • lifelong learning packs,
  • student assignments,
  • courses,
  • the School’s historical, iconographic, and archive collections.

Renewing

  • through the lending terminal,
  • directly at the Learning Centre reception,
  • by phone on +33 (0)1 64 15 34 70,
  • by logging onto your reader account from the document portal.

Returning documents

  • You have 3 options for returning documents:  At Learning Centre reception, via the lending terminal, or in the return box by the entrance.
    During the refurbishment work, books will be returned at the counter located in M101 (Maupertuis Wing, first floor), which is open between 11 AM and 2 PM.
  • Fines will be levied for late returns and borrowing entitlements will be suspended (1 fine per day of late return).
