A high-level ParisTech program on the environment and sustainable development. The Masters degree in “Water, Soil and Waste Management and Treatment” (GTESD) is a 16-month vocational degree accredited by the Ministry of National Education, starting in October and finishing in the second January following.
Dedicated to environmental engineering, this course teaches a combination of scientific, methodological, and technological knowledge applied to water, soil and waste. The degree in Water Soil and Waste Management and Treatment is a Masters 2 program provided by AgroParisTech in partnership with Chimie ParisTech, École des Ponts ParisTech, ENSTA ParisTech, ESPCI ParisTech, and MINES ParisTech.
The purpose of this vocational Masters degree is to train high-level executives capable of doing innovative work in identifying, managing, and tackling environmental problems. It is a response to a need expressed by French companies for the training of managers in emerging countries. The aim is to give international students the broad and solid scientific grounding they need in order to understand the dynamics of geo-systems (water, soil), to assess the impact of human activities and to implement the tools, techniques, and systems needed to correct them.

At the end of the course, students will understand the tools and methods used to control the impact of human activities on the environment in the following areas:
- water resource management;
- water treatment and distribution;
- waste water purification and sludge treatment;
- waste sorting, collection and treatment;
- byproduct recycling;
- management of polluted sites.
