Ecole des Ponts offers a very high-level education in general engineering. The Graduate School, underpinned by the excellence of its research labs, develops Masters and PhD programmes in mechanical and civil engineering, materiasl sciences, nuclear engineering, applied mathematics, information technology, environmental sciences, urban planning, transport, economics and sociology. Through its subsidiaries or in its own right, it develops professional programmes in the fields of initial and lifelong training that are closely linked with different sectors of the economy. The faculty departments responsible for the 2nd and 3rd year engineering programmes also cover the Masters and specialist Masters programmes in their field. They manage the course content, supervise students and develop relations with companies in the business sectors that match graduates’ career choices.

The first-year engineering faculty is responsible for a common core of general training delivered to students recruited by examination after preparation at France’s grandes écoles or by selection with a scientific degree. The language training department and the humanities and social science department offer courses across all the School’s programmes.
