In 2011, we developed new training courses and made student life part of our educational project

New course modules were created:“Analysis of Serious Nuclear Accidents”, “Econometrics of discrete choice models”, “Software development techniques”.

The range of courses in human and social sciences was expanded to include all dimensions of sustainable development in the basket of engineering skills, with 7 new programmes created in 2011-2012:“The power of numbers”, “Intercultural issues and methods”,…

The “intrapreneurs of sustainable development” programme continued:a final year multidisciplinary project on innovative design, conducted in partnership with new companies and foreign universities.

The career guidance programme developed further.

Student jobs were created to extend opening hours at the School library.

Sport became a factor that creates links between students from different entry routes (standard entry examination, école polytechnique, French and foreign universities) in the second year of the engineering course.

In 2012, the following programmes have been implemented

Development of a project-based curriculum:establishment of scientific projects linked with the School’s laboratories, a major Civil and Structural Engineering Department programme for student engineers in their third year,

Remodelling of the Transport, Environment and Planning programmes into engineering courses,

A tutorial system for students recruited via the university route, to bring them up to speed in their first year.

For the professional world, the School also offers

Specialist Masters programmes, including the programme on “Real Estate, Buildings and Energy”, which began in January 2012 and involves École des Ponts, CSTB and CNFPT.It gives training to professionals in the real estate sector in the processes of funding, programming, design, construction and management of sustainable real estate projects, including their technical, economic and sociopolitical dimension.
