Applied Mathematics and Computer Science Department (IMI)

The IMI department is a high level training package designed to prepare student engineers for one of the following three professional fields:

  • Modelling and industrial applications of scientific computation
  • Finance and the tools of stochastic analysis
  • Computer science careers, with a strong orientation towards the leading-edge fields of image processing and logistic optimisation tools

In each of the above fields, an important role has been accorded to modelling and simulation. A weekly seminar permits students to assess the impact of these techniques in the most innovative companies.

The strength of the École des Ponts research centres in these fields allows students to carry out projects originating from companies under double supervision, that of the researchers of the research centre on the one hand and that of the in-house company engineer on the other.
