Visiting professors
      Being a visiting professor implies
  • Taking part in research work in one of the École des Ponts research laboratories
  • Taking part in teaching activities by giving lectures in collaboration with an École des Ponts academic department. Teaching languages: English, Spanish or French.
      Specific conditions
  • Duration:

    3 to 10 months (to be negociated)

  • Contract:

    The contract covers the period of collaboration.
    This contract can be extended up to a maximum of 10 months by the École des Ponts research laboratory

  • Remuneration:

    To be negotiated with the École des Ponts, depending on whether or not the visiting professor retains his/her salary from his/her home institution. Housing is left to the care of the visiting professor.
      Candidates must
  • Be a professor or a full time research fellow from a well-known institution abroad
  • Have professional experience in teaching and research (PhD and supervisor)
  • Work in one of the fields of the École des Ponts laboratories
  • Have international academic recognition: publications, awards...
  • Be non-France residents.
      Application procedure

(submit a completed application form to be signed by the director of an École des Ponts research laboratory or the head of an École des Ponts department)

  • Completed and signed application form
  • Research project
  • Teaching project including syllabus
  • A CV and list of recent publications
  • A letter from the home institution authorising his/her absence.
      Selection procedure
  • The completed application will be jointly submitted by the research laboratory director and the head of department
  • The selection committee will be chaired by the director of the École des Ponts and will be composed of relevant École des Ponts academic members
  • Selection criteria:

    - Quality of the candidate’s application and academic research background
    - A willingness to contribute to the international renown of the École des Ponts both in teaching and research.
      Deadlines
  • The candidate’s application must be submitted by 15th April or by 15th October
  • Selection committee meets in May and in November
  • Candidates will be notified of their acceptance in June and December

  • École des Ponts academic calendar:

    1st semester: October - February
    2nd semester: February - June
