English has become the world language, spoken by up to one billion people, representing 75% of all written international communication, and 90% of all global Internet content. The native language of most Americans, British, Irish, Australians, New Zealanders, and Canadians, as well as of many people from the Caribbean, Africa, and India - nearly 400M million people in all contribute to English's depth and variety of literatures and cultures.
