Ecole des Ponts ParisTech provides Master level programs in the field of engineering. International students can apply for different types of degree programs :
- The engineering degree program is a two-year program combining advanced scientific and technical education, a project and field based approach to learning, the acquisition of managerial, human, and social skills, and finally preparation for teamwork and international employment
- Masters programs leading to research
- Advanced Masters programs leading to senior positions in industry
For students accepted through the international admissions procedure, the engineering degree program is a two-year Masters program leading to the Diplôme d’ingénieur de l’Ecole nationale des ponts et chaussées, equivalent to a Master of Science.
Access is restricted to student appointed by their home university as candidates to the dual-degree programme with Ecole des Ponts ParisTech, and to students from ParisTech admissions procedure. Students can apply for one of the 6 departments of studies, according to the domains of cooperation defined in the cooperation agreement between their home university and Ecole des Ponts ParisTech.
École des Ponts ParisTech provides two types of Masters program:
ParisTech Masters programs are taught by the ParisTech engineering schools. They are essentially open to international students holding the equivalent of a four-year Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree, awarded by an internationally recognized higher education establishment. The program lasts between 14 and 18 months.
MASTERS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UNIVERSITIES
The Masters programs conducted in partnership with universities consist of two years: the first year (M1), a common core of subjects studied at the partner universities and a specialization in year two (M2) run jointly by one or more universities, École des Ponts ParisTech and other grandes écoles. These degrees focus primarily on teaching research methods and passing on knowledge. They prepare students for PhD research at Paris-Est University or for entry into the working world.
Each Masters program has its own admission conditions.
Advanced Masters programs (mastères spécialisés®)
The Mastères Spécialisés® (Advanced Masters), a label accredited by the CGE (Conférence des Grandes Écoles), provides comprehensive, higher level professional training to engineers and students who already have degrees but wish to specialize in a particular field.
The program, which lasts between twelve and fifteen months, is taught by practitioners and includes an internship.
The research labs at École des Ponts ParisTech are a training ground for many PhD students.
In 2018, 100 doctoral theses were defended in School laboratories affiliated to Université Paris-Est, and at the beginning of 2019, Ecole des Ponts counts 550 PhD candidates and Postdoc in its 12 laboratories.
