A Chair is primarily the expression of a lasting relationship of trust between a company and the School, which meets the needs of Teaching and Research, with mutual benefits,
For the company:
- strong synergies between its industrial R&D and academic research,
- systematic involvement in the work and documents of the Chair,
- privileged access to progress in research, in advance of scientific publication,
- participation in setting educational goals to reflect the needs of the company,
- special access to students as part of a lasting strategic partnership,
- contribution to the company’s communication on innovation, contributing to its profile, reputation and prestige,
- tax advantage: 60% reduction in corporation tax up to a maximum of 0.5% of revenues, under a Corporate Sponsorship Agreement.
For the School:
- improvement in the quality of its research management systems through focus on the dynamics between the company’s R&D and the research teams,
- creation of Masters or training programs in response to the needs of partner companies,
- support for the School’s activities at international level, amongst other things through links with foreign institutions,
- an enhanced scientific profile for the School’s research functions.

Financing
Our Chairs can be financed by one or more partner companies.
There are two funding options:
- by capital input
- by annual payment
The average amount paid into a chair is €250,000 a year over a period of 5 to 10 years.
These payments are used:
- to pay the holder of the chair and his or her team
- to run the teaching or research program
- to purchase and maintain scientific equipment, teaching instruments,
- for forums, travel…
ADVANTAGES TO COMPANIES
Payments through corporate sponsorship entitle companies to a 60% reduction in corporation tax on the amount paid up to a maximum of 0.5% of revenues.
